Buyukada Island is the largest island in the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, Istanbul. It is 4.4 km long, 1.7 km wide, with an area of 5.46 square kilometers (2.11 square miles) and a population of 7,335 (2000). It is a holiday resort where Trotsky of the Soviet Union went into exile in 1908. The highest point is 203 meters above sea level and has an ancient Greek Orthodox church (St. George).
