Ishigaki Island's largest Damm
The largest dam among the five dams on Ishigaki Island. Visit to collect dam cards. It is distributed at the dam management office on weekdays, but on Saturdays and Sundays you can enjoy it at the Yaeyama Peace Memorial Hall in Ishigaki city.

There was this bottom dam on the way to the area where Maibara Beach is located and the road connecting Ishigaki Airport and the southern part of the island. Shortly after passing through the main tunnel from the Maibara Beach side, the dam lake was visible and hidden on the left. Further, there was a road leading to the dam embankment. The embankment of this Soshihara Dam was quite long and stretched straight. It is said that it is the longest embankment for agricultural dams in Japan.

Lake Damm, the largest island of Ishigaki Island
We visited the Yaeyama Iasi community in Maibara and headed south toward the southern part of the island where we were staying on this day. On the way, there was a tunnel at the main, and when I passed through that tunnel, I could see the dam lake on my left. This was the Soshihara Dam. If you go further, you will find the southern end of the dam lake, where you can get in by car. The southern end of the dam lake is an embankment, and it is said that it is the longest embankment for irrigation dams in Japan.
