Zhenwu Temple

Hengshan Zhenwu Temple was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty, the original building has been destroyed, the current Zhenwu Temple is restored and rebuilt on the original site in 2008. Zhenwu Temple is dedicated to Zhenwu Emperor, also known as Xuanwu Emperor, the god of the north in Chinese mythology and legend.

＂ Hengshan Zhenwu Temple (Xuanwu Temple) ＂ is located in the village of stopzhiling at the foot of Beiyue Hengshan Mountain, Hunyuan County, Datong City (mountain exit). It was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The original building was destroyed in ＂ Cultural Revolution ＂. In 2008, local villagers raised funds to rebuild the original site. The layout of the small temple is very compact, the red wall of the temple is glazed tiles, it looks very grand, looking at the Zhenwu Temple from a high place, and the mountains behind the temple are quite spectacular. The main god worshipped in the Zhenwu Temple is Zhenwu Emperor (also known as: Xuantian God, You Shengzhenjun Xuantian God), the god of the north in Chinese mythology and legend, and the famous god of Taoism in the immortals. It occupies an important position in Chinese folk beliefs. The folk have been circulating for a long time. Each dynasty sealed the emperor of Zhenwu.
