What travelers say:

Part of the village has been rebuilt so it is best to visit with a guide. It is a rebuilt house (low enough to get in) and a stone structure where they grow vegetables and chickens. The latter are the most complex, expensive structures, and very interesting, and they spend more energy on chicken coups than on their own houses. They don't eat eggs, but chicken is valuable meat (the rest is rats and dogs). Like all villages on the island, the site also has a guard. The Moai statue was thrown out and has not been re-mounted so far. There are also some red stone headpieces nearby. Some of them are carved, but they are newer.
