We exited the park to the East. Not crowded at all.
We stayed 2 nights at the El Tovar and exited the park to the east, down the East Rim Drive. It was not busy at all, which was nice. We stopped at a half dozen stops. Grandview and the Desert View ...
This 23 mile drive was so much better than the south rim. Less crowded, less traffic, and fantastic views. There’s lots of view stops, some with restrooms. Just beautiful!!
We have been to the Grand Canyon multiple times, but this was one of the best experiences we have had! I highly recommend it. Come in on hwy 64 and it is like you are getting to see the Grand Canyon...
This reviewer is assuming that "East Rim Drive" means Desert View Drive, which is Route 64 east of the Park Service's visitors center all the way over to the park's East Entrance. The drive is well w...
The East Entrance is 25 miles west of 89 in AZ. Its a MUCH better option for getting in and out of the park as there is much less traffic AND all the lookouts are on this side anyways.

Best views with less crowds

Best Hidden Gem!

Must Do
