Provand's Lordship

The Patriarch's residence is located across the road from Glasgow Cathedral, once the heart of medieval Glasgow. This is a medieval house, although not exquisite enough, but a rough overview of 17th century houses and people's lives. There are a few well-preserved buildings from the medieval period in Glasgow and near the clergy room, one of the oldest remaining houses. The cleric's chamber was built in 1471 by Andrew Muirhead and served as a St Nicholas Hospital and part of the bishop of Glasgow, and it is likely that the cleric's chambers, which were used in the house, have been used by the cathedral of clergy and other support staff to provide temporary housing.
