Feeling the standing ancient church came to Galatina, and wanted to seriously feel the local church culture, I and friends came to the local Basilica di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. The cathedral is different from some of the churches I visited before, it is in the residential street houses, there is no open green grass at the door, or large trees arranged in order, and there is no elaborate tall exterior. At first it looked only two or three floors high, the yellow bricks stacked into straight walls, the color of the soil under the feet, it has three doors, the middle door is the largest entrance. Outside the door is passers-by, the ringing of bicycles, the voice of visitors. The atmosphere inside the church is different from outside, with dim candlelight inside and no bright sunlight outside the door. Everyone visits quietly or sits and prays attentively. On the left and right walls are ancient and exquisite murals, and carefully carved stone statues stand. Large murals looking up the roof, there are a group of holy people gathered together, like looking down from heaven. Warm reminder that summer is the best season for local tourism.
