Five days in Okayama
OK to try. Wide variety of sake. Tempura is good. Uni sushi yummy. Sashimi tasty. It's a pity that the fishpond under repairing. Quite busy with happy atmosphere.
If you cross the road in front of Uewa-Kami Station and go ahead, there is a shopping street, which is a Uewa-Kami-Kami Inn where the white-walled townscape remains. There are many shops with shutters closed, but the townscape is beautifully left. The shopping street is quiet and calm.
The white-walled shopping street and remains are preserved. The theater called Okinaza, built in the Taisho era, is also alive. However, since it was transferred to the city, unfortunately the internal tour is limited to events such as Deko City. The exhibition of Michiyo Okada at the History and Culture Museum was also helpful.
A short walk from the upper and lower stations. It's a shopping street, but at the same time, the beautiful white-walled cityscape of plaster remains firmly, and the atmosphere as a tourist destination is full. Especially beautiful is the upper and lower historical and cultural museum of Michiyo Okada's birthplace, a model of the heroine of Hanabukuro Tayama's novel "Futon". The harmony between the overlapping roof and the white walls is wonderful.
I went to the Hina Festival up and down. There are a number of Hina dolls on display at the house 々 in the center of town. It seems that the total number exceeds 5,000. The cityscape is a little inferior to other cities, but I enjoyed it because it was my first time to see such a Hina doll.
