We had the place to ourselves. The grounds were well maintained. We enjoyed the experience of an oasis in the desert.

Interesting Piece of History

I never knew it existed! We've been to Carlsbad Caverns numerous times. I even lived in Carlsbad for several months. And knew nothing about Rattlesnake Springs. Actually saw it on a map. All the Range...

Nice Picnic Area

This is a short drive down Rattlesnake Springs road and a nice place for a picnic. There is no hiking. In the evening we saw about 300 vultures roost in the trees there for the night.

Quite place

Stopped by here at the suggestion of the Park Ranger at the caverns. Very interesting to see this body of water that naturally occurs. Rode to the springs is close, but you can walk there. Pumping ...

Bird oasis

Nice little oasis in the desert is mostly special for bird nuts (like us). It looks nice for picnics, but otherwise wouldn't necessarily have much to offer "normal" people,
