The garden is located in Portrack House near the town of Dumfries in southwestern Scotland. The garden reflects the microcosm, and people walk through the garden like they walk through a miniature model of the universe. Designer CHARLES JENCKS, a leading figure in landscape architecture, built the garden in 1988 and gave it to his later wife Maggie Keswick. The reason for the name is "THE GARDEN OF COSMIC SPECULATION" is because Jencks and his design partners designed the garden to reflect nature and science.
