Ulanqab Cliff Painting

Ulanqab League is a unique geographical location in Inner Mongolia with borders to Hebei, Shanxi and Mongolia. Ulanqab meets all your yearning for blue sky and white clouds, volcanic sites, prehistoric rock paintings in the grassland.

Accompanied by experts from the Cultural Relics Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, we visited the famous Ulanqab rock paintings in Siziwangqi. The rock paintings are from the Siziwang Banner in the east to the west of the Urat Zhongqi, mainly distributed about 50 kilometers northwest of the Weijing Sumu in the Siziwang Banner, on the slope on the west side of a platform in Chagan Haxiatu. The content of the rock paintings here is mostly animal images and hoof marks of strange hoof animals. Ulanqab rock paintings are the original people of the grassland here. During the long historical development, they are a true portrayal of the totem texts of reproduction, production activities, thinking and faith. According to historians, these rock paintings were first created 10,000 years ago, and recently hundreds of years of history.
