The location is superb. Take a taxi to the north gate of the Haida Cableway, go straight to the ticket office, then turn left and walk up a few steps. It's really easy to get there with kids. The key is to go up the north gate and down the south gate, and then just a few steps out you'll find the main entrance to the Forest Zoo.

A friend recommended this place, but it wasn't as amazing as I'd imagined. I probably waited too long. I waited in line for 2 hours, only got a 10-minute cable car ride, and only had about 8 minutes of scenery. It wasn't worth the price. The wind was so strong on the mountain it gave me a headache.

It's still amazing. The sea view after climbing the mountain is really good. It's worth queuing up to see it.

Haida Cableway is located between the scenic Baiyunyanshui Scenic Area and Dalian Senli Zoo Phase II at the southern end of Dalian City. The cableway is connected by 166 gondolas and is 1,200 meters long. The one-way trip takes about 20 minutes and the round trip takes about 40 minutes. It is surrounded by mountains and the sea, and the scenery is pleasant. It is the longest aerial cableway in Dalian. When riding the cableway, please take good care of the elderly and children around you. It is strictly forbidden to play, swing, and smoke in the gondola to ensure the safety of the tour. The mountains, seas, reefs and islands complement each other. The intermediate station where the cable car passes is a commanding height in Dalian-Lianhua Mountain, which is about 260 meters above sea level. Overlooking the east, it is the prosperous world of the four districts and development zones in Dalian City. European-style houses are like huge pearls inlaid in this beautiful coastal city. Enjoying the city's scenery in the slowly ascending cable car is refreshing and enjoyable. This is a kind of comfort and pleasure that you can't feel in cable cars in Mount Tai, Zhangjiajie, etc.! The Forest Zoo and the Haida Cableway take a whole day. It's a huge place, with both separate enclosures and captive areas. The giant pandas and Siberian tigers are very active and energetic. After leaving the zoo, we took the Haida Cableway down the mountain to enjoy the ocean view. It was absolutely amazing. The online queue said it would take an hour and a half, but we ended up waiting for over two hours. But the scenery was definitely worth it! Crossing the mountains and the sea in the sunset was like taking an aerial photo with your own eyes!

From the Internet, I saw that there are several routes to choose from. There are several routes combined between the South Gate and the North Gate and Lotus Mountain. My understanding is that Lotus Mountain is the midpoint. From the South Gate to Lotus Mountain, you are facing the sea. There is a viewing restaurant on Lotus Mountain where you can watch the sea view for a while. From the North Gate to Lotus Mountain, there is basically no sea to see. It is facing the mountain and facing the city view. So the main viewing route is from Lotus Mountain to the South Gate. Then you can only choose to get on the bus from the North Gate, and you can choose whether to stop at Lotus Mountain. If it is not a forced march tour, you can choose to stop in the middle for a while. The scenery is indeed invincible. You have to walk a lot of steps before getting on the bus from the North Gate. Fortunately, no one is queuing and it is very smooth. It should be uncomfortable to take this cable car when it is hot. There is no air conditioning and it is closed. It would be better if a fan was added in the future.
