Show More ReviewsThe 100 yuan entrance fee allows you to hike from the Phra Phuttha trailhead to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. The hiking route is easy and takes about half an hour to reach Phra Phuttha, and another hour to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. May is the rainy season, so there's often fog. Luckily, it didn't rain in the morning, and the muddy paths weren't too slippery. The Doi Suthep area is quite large, with the Royal Palace and various hiking trails in different directions. The weather wasn't great, so I'll come back another time. A taxi from Wat Phra That Doi Suthep to the old city costs around 300 yuan; red taxis require sharing and take longer. PS: It's best to bring your own receipt and change when buying tickets for the hike.
