Wangjianglou Park

The Wangjiang Tower ancient building complex, a national key cultural relic protection site, has been renovated and officially opened for trial operation on July 22. The ticket price remains unchanged at 20 yuan per person, and free for people over 60 years old. Come check in again and take a look.

There is an entrance fee here. When I entered the park through the small gate, I was about to buy a ticket, but the ticket seller rushed out and told me anxiously that I had to buy a ticket. Everyone knows that I have to buy a ticket. Why is she so stingy? Later I understood why she was so anxious, because I saw that local people didn't need to buy tickets when they passed by. There are many ancient buildings inside, and many of them are related to Xue Tao.

Wangjiang Tower Ancient Building Complex should be the biggest attraction of the entire Wangjiang Tower Park. It is located on the west bank of Fuhe River, 1 km southeast of Jiuyan Bridge in Chengdu City. It is famous for being the former residence of the Tang Dynasty female poet Xue Tao (759-831). The existing Wangjiang Tower Ancient Building Complex was built in the 15th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1889). It is mainly Chongli Pavilion, and there are also Yinshi Tower, Huanjian Pavilion, Wuyunxian Pavilion, etc., collectively known as Wangjiang Tower Ancient Building Complex. Of course, the most beautiful is Chongli Pavilion, which is a landmark building of the historical and cultural city of Chengdu. Because it is built by the river, it is called Wangjiang Tower by the people. The building is taken from the "Chongli" in the "Fu of Shudu" by Zuo Si, a great writer of the Jin Dynasty, "both beautiful and Chong, the real name Chengdu", to praise the magnificent beauty of Wangjiang Tower. The special thing about the whole building is its architecture. You can see that the pavilion has four floors, the first and second floors are four-sided, and the third and fourth floors are eight-sided, which means stable and all-round. Magnificent and beautiful, all-wood structure, more than 30 meters high. The Chongli Pavilion ancient building complex in Wangjiang Park is also a representative of Sichuan classical garden architecture, with high historical, artistic and scientific value. As an ancient building from the Qing Dynasty, Wangjiang Tower has been approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

In Wangjianglou Park, a separate space needs a single fee. It feels worthwhile to come in. Xue Tao's tomb is inside. There is also a memorial hall dedicated to Xue Tao's life. But when I went there (October 2016), the main building inside should be the Wangjianglou, which is still under repair and not in. Everything else is good.

Ancient architecture, gardens, bamboo, history, culture and humanities, no matter from which point of view, are bright spots here, are worth coming. Deng Chongli, Wangjinjiang, Wenqu, Xue Tao.
