Anonymous userAnonymous userIt was huge and very quiet; I finally saw Du Fu Thatched Cottage! It wasn't quite what I expected; the cottage was very crowded. There's also a free park near the entrance called Huanhuaxi Park, perfect for a stroll. It's a bit far from the subway station, but the roads are wide and open. I even got a free lemon tea at a local cafe (it tasted better than the ones I paid for!).

whseahwhseahWuhou Shrine is a peaceful and historically rich site dedicated to Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang of the Three Kingdoms era. Set in a beautiful garden with ancient architecture, it offers a calm atmosphere, cultural insights, and a meaningful glimpse into China’s history. It's a well worth visit.

Mountain climbing
Anonymous userAnonymous userFront Mountain Fees and Experience: Parking is not yet fully developed; 10 yuan for 12 hours. Entrance fee is 80 yuan, excluding any services within the scenic area. After entering, you walk a short distance and then immediately need to buy a 5 yuan per person ticket for a 100-meter boat ride (from the lakeside to the other side) to the cable car. The cable car itself costs 35 yuan per person. You can pray and worship at the front mountain (Laojun Pavilion reportedly closes around 5 pm, exact time unclear). When I arrived, it was already past 6 pm when it closed. Compared to the back mountain: If you really want to hike, exercise, take photos of natural scenery, and get close to nature, you can choose the back mountain. I went to the back mountain last year; the entrance fee was much cheaper than the front mountain ticket. I don't remember the exact price, but it cost a few dozen yuan per person to take a private car up and then hiked down. The scenery along the way was absolutely stunning, and the photos turned out great. However, you really need to be strong, otherwise you won't be able to get down the mountain!

136***28136***28The museum's most prized exhibits here are a must-see, and a guided tour is essential; otherwise, it's truly boring. Song Xuemei, the guide from Ctrip, was extremely dedicated and responsible; the two guides provided a two-hour explanation – a big thumbs up!

MichYuMichYuA bit further away but if you can couple Panda Valley with either Dujiangyang Scenic area or Qingcheng Mountain. Then this is a perfect day trip out of Chengdu. I been to Panda Base few years ago . Each of this sites have its qualities . panda valley is a lot more closer to nature and lesser people . Saw Giant Panda and red pandas . Nice environment!

LucywanLucywanUnlike Sanxingdui, Jinsha is built entirely on the excavation site, with separate exhibition halls and display halls. Its cultural and creative gifts are quite nice; although they've faded after I wore them, they were quite pretty when I bought them. I recommend visiting outside of holidays.

No. 3 of Night Attractions in Sichuan

难 得糊 涂难 得糊 涂Chengdu's Wenshufang, located at No. 66 Wenshuyuan Street in Qingyang District, is a national AAAA-level open-air historical and cultural district built around the ancient Wenshuyuan Temple. Admission is free and the area is open 24 hours a day, though it's recommended to plan a three- to four-hour visit. The district's architectural style is inspired by traditional western Sichuan courtyards, with blue tiles, white walls, and carved eaves. This creates a unique "courtyard-style commercial street" feel, earning it the nickname "Chengdu's Double Embroidery"—the sound of Buddhist chants echoes within the red walls, while the bustling market life unfolds beyond. Wenshufang's core identity can be summarized as "Zen culture combined with traditional Chengdu folk customs." Within the district, there's a temple every 100 steps and a pagoda every 1,000 steps. In addition to Wenshuyuan Temple (built in the Sui Dynasty and inscribed by Emperor Kangxi), the district also preserves the remains of the "Nine Palaces and Eighteen Temples," including the Five Mountains Palace, Lengjia Nunnery, and Aido Hall. This area boasts the most concentrated religious and cultural heritage in Chengdu's old city. Building on this foundation, the neighborhood has incorporated elements such as the "Empty Forest Zen Road" market for Zen-inspired goods, the "Manjusri Blessed Land" cluster of protected courtyards, the "Folk Old Street" offering intangible cultural heritage crafts, the "Chengdu Salon" teahouse featuring antiques, calligraphy, and paintings, as well as the "Old Chengdu Food Court" and "Tianzi Food Hall." This all-in-one experience combines incense worship, Hanfu travel photography, gaiwan tea, Sichuan Opera face-changing, and century-old snacks (such as dragon wontons, Zhong dumplings, and Lai glutinous rice balls). The atmosphere is enhanced by the lighting of lanterns at night. Wenshufang is a free historical district offering the most concentrated and convenient experience of old Chengdu: burning incense, enjoying vegetarian food, drinking tea, watching opera, strolling the ancient streets, enjoying snacks, shopping for cultural products, and photographing Hanfu costumes. For a quick experience of slow living and the essence of Zen, simply add this area to your half-day itinerary.

_We***46_We***46A hidden gem of a cultural heritage site for families with kids! We chose the Liyuan Hall, and my child's eyes lit up the entire time! During the puppet show and shadow puppetry, children could even go on stage and interact. The teachers were incredibly patient, and the way they taught the kids how to use the string puppets was absolutely adorable. The handmade chicken soup dumplings were a huge surprise at only 12 yuan a large portion – a delightful surprise! The nine-compartment dim sum was also incredibly delicious! After the performance, we strolled around Wenshu Monastery, and my child kept imitating the face-changing gestures with me – a perfect introduction to traditional culture, and the value was incredible!
