OutstandingAn amazing castle and visiting the grounds was a treat. Full of history and going through the surroundings, it wasn't repetitive and not boring at all. I absolutely loved it and it's was very interesting. I love the Arab Room and the war shelters. Reasonable priced tickets compared to the Royal castle prices. I highly recommend this visit for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful. I love Cardiff. It's so refreshing compared to London.

The Beautiful & Unique Arcades Of Cardiff, Like Travelling Back In TimeCardiff is a magical city with so much history at its centre, the castle is a very well known landmark - but a hidden gem Of Cardiff is its range of Victorian arcades. Cardiff has seen a lot of development over the last few years but it still has some very unique features with an old world charm. The arcades are beautifully restored and have lots of original Victorian features, some even have their upper balconies restored too. They feature lots of cafes, restaurants and independent stores - and on the upper levels have dentists, massage parlours and some offices too. The castle quarter arcades and the high street arcade offer the most stores, and barkers tea house in the castle arcade is KT favourite daytime spot. Across the arcade is their gin bar which is an amazing place to start your night in Cardiff. Usually used to cut through between St Mary’s and Queen street these arcades don’t get enough attention for the architectural wonders that they are! Later, we took a £7 open-top boat ride to Cardiff Bay, enjoying the scenic journey, ice cream by the waterfront, and sights of another small castle nearby before heading back. An amazing castle and visiting the grounds was a treat. Full of history and going through the surroundings, it wasn't repetitive and not boring at all. I absolutely loved it and it's was very interesting. I love the Arab Room and the war shelters. Reasonable priced tickets compared to the Royal castle prices. I highly recommend this visit for all ages. The staff were friendly and helpful. I love Cardiff. It's so refreshing compared to London.
Cardiff Castle is located in the heart of Cardiff downtown. It is a place which you must go if you visit Cardiff. It is one of the most beautiful castles in Wales. The park outside the castle is free admission. You can take lots of pictures of the outlook of the castle from there. The scenary around the castle area is very beautiful. The park itself is very big, you can take a boat there, for a short river cruise. The symbol of Wales, a dragon statue, is also located there.

Worth checking out to see this attraction. If you enjoy history, you will love it. I recommend getting the 45 minute tour (costs extra) and see parts of the castle you won't see. One room just recently opened to tours for the first time in 20 years.

Situated in the heart of Cardiff, surrounded by Butte Park, Cardiff Castle is the most iconic ancient building in Cardiff. The castle was built by the Romans more than 2000 years ago and has undergone three renovations since. The last renovation was in the 19th century, when Marquis Bart III, a wealthy businessman, commissioned architect Burges to renovate the interior of the castle. Each room in the castle has a different theme, exquisitely carved and painted.
Cardiff Castle is really great! I probably went in early September when I happened to have a commemorative performance that night, so the open space in the center was full of actors wearing ancient costumes. It felt very good. The castle is very large. It can drill into the air shelter inside the wall and climb up to the top to see the whole city of Cardiff. It feels great! Recommend!!!
We set off at six in the morning and took a two and a half hour car ride to the pier, left Ireland by boat, took a three and a half hour ship ride to Fishguard in the UK, then took another two and a half hour car ride to Cardiff, the capital of Wales, to visit Cardiff Castle.
