This aquaduct used to supply water to additional reservoirs which supported the nearby town. The area of the reservoirs are blocked off but can be accessed with permission.
Like much of the Archeological park of Carthage, a little time and effort is well rewarded as fortunately, archeologists have not restored to site to its former glory.
