If you have seen the Caribbean Sea at the beach in Cancun, you can come to the Mayan Museum to learn about Mayan civilization. The museum is not big, and the exhibits are not in English, but the general context is introduced in English. Outside is an archaeological site, which is not big, but you can also feel the feeling of the ancient Mayans living in the tropical jungle.
They only take Mexican pesos and we exchanged currency at a shop across the street. It was interesting to see the history of Mayan culture and walk to a small temple inside the museum. The only downside was that most of the information boards were in Spanish but we were able to understand most of it. Well worth the visit.
A beautiful museum and archaeological site just a few yards from our hotel, entry was only 65 MXN. However part of the museum was closed so only two halls were open. It was early evening so it was relatively quiet, unfortunately most of the exhibits were in Spanish.
Cancun is an exclusive holy place on the Caribbean Sea, and on the other hand, it is the place where many relics of Mayan civilization are scattered, so its Mayan Cultural Museum is worth looking forward to. Unfortunately, the collections contained in this museum are a bit inconsistent with the important relics around Cancun. The exhibition area of the museum is very small, and a portrait photography exhibition was held in an exhibition hall next to it, which was a bit disappointing. However, the biggest highlight of the museum is that it is located on a ruins. After visiting the museum, you can directly enter the ruins for a visit. Although the ruins are not very majestic, it is worth the 75 pesos ticket price.
The Cancun Mayan Museum is the largest museum of Mayan civilization ruins in Mexico. The museum houses many statues and gold artifacts unearthed during the Mayan civilization period. The statues are particularly peculiar in shape and appear very mysterious. Friends who are interested in Maya must come and visit and listen to the explanations here, which is really beneficial.
