This is a 13th-century watchtower, about 39 meters high, with a loft for homing pigeons. The tower dates back to 1214 and was damaged by an earthquake in 1580. It was used as a lighthouse until becoming a watchtower in 1848. During World War I it served as a military post.

Saw this when on my way to a restaurant nearby. Great piece of history. Small plaque nearby tells you all about it. Worth a visit if you’ve also got something else to do nearby

This is in the town square which has lots of restaurants, that have outside seating. The tower is a great piece of engineering. So sip a glass of wine, take your time.
