Iglesia Catedral de Santa Maria de Betancuria

A lovely village.

Well with a drive to this village. The church is very interesting with a picturesque square and side streets. We went on a Tuesday and found limited restaurants open.

Would have been nice to get in!

Grumpy custodian and no entry - very disappointing at 3pm pm in busy tourist destination. Surely the church could be open more ? I’m told this is not uncommon. Poor show.

This church is a cathedral, because it is the diocesis of Fuerteventura was built in the 15th century from a small chapel and in advocacy to the Virgin Mary.

Small Church. Calls attention to the retail and the craftsmen of the ceiling of the Church and the sacristry. As being in such a “remote” place (for the lost that should be Forteventura in that ...
