What travelers say:

The street center park built on the site of the east wall of the Ming Dynasty imperial city Huangchenggen Ruins Park, from Ping'an Street in the north, almost to Chang'an Street in the south, Beiheyan Street on the west side, Nanheyan Street on the west side, Donghuangchenggen North Street, Donghuangchenggen South Street, Chenguang Street, Therefore, the Imperial City Root Relics Park is a veritable "street park", but a very narrow street park, the length of more than two kilometers, the average width is only 30 meters. The Ming Dynasty Beijing City has three city walls, the innermost is the Forbidden City, the city wall has been preserved so far; The outermost wall along the second ring road today was demolished in the 1960s and 1970s, and there are only two remaining sites; there is also a imperial city wall between the inner city and the outer city, which was demolished at the beginning of the last century because it has been unknown for a long time. In 2000, many sites of the East Emperor Wall of the Ming Dynasty were found in the construction of the second phase of Wangfujing Street, so the Beijing Municipal Government decided to establish the Imperial Root Ruins Park on this front line, and opened the park on September 11, 2001, and was selected as the favorite Beijing "New Eight Views" in the same year. There is a section of the city wall at the north end of the park, with seven large words "Huangchenggen Relics Park", which is of course not the remains of the Ming Dynasty city wall, but the restoration of the original site, but also reminds people to know that hundreds of years ago this was a part of the magnificent imperial city. From the north to the south, the park is narrow, but the green grass at the foot, the lush surroundings, the park has planted 2,130 trees, more than 4,400 shrubs, and the lawn is 40,000 square meters. The total greening rate is 90%. Now it is the golden season of ginkgo. There are several ginkgo landscapes in different locations in the park. Although the climate is not good this year, the color leaf rate is low, but today the sun is shining, the scenery under the sun is also pleasant. The section of the beach intersection of the park has been built with the "May Fourth Square", and there is a relief sculpture of the "May Fourth Fengbei" characters. The west side is the famous red punching place "May Fourth Red Building", and the "Former Site of China-France University" on the east side of the north section of the park and the "Former Site of the New Youth Journal" not far from the west side of the south section of the park. It is also the same series of red punching places. At the southern end of the park, there is also the Donganmen site of Minghuang City. The two sinking squares in the south and north have been built here, retaining the ground plane at the bottom of the Ming Dynasty, and the pillars and foundations of the original Donganmen and the "fin wings" of the original Wangen Bridge have been excavated. There are no high-rise buildings on both sides of the park, basically there are old-fashioned buildings with a certain history, and there are many cultural relics protected buildings. Therefore, walking in the park to see the buildings on both sides is also a quite enjoyable thing. You can see some famous units along the way. Such as the Science Press, the former site of the University of China and France, the State Administration of Cultural Relics, the Search for Truth Publishing House, the Red Building of Peking University, the Central Committee of the Democratic League, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Central Committee of the Democratic Revolution, etc.
