Baihua Mountain is a rare summer retreat in Beijing. Due to its high altitude, the temperature is eight or nine degrees Celsius lower than in the city. Previously, it could be accessed from several directions, including Mentougou, Fangshan, and Hebei. The Baicaopan branch in Fangshan even offered a direct shuttle bus to the summit. Unfortunately, all the other routes are closed, leaving only the Mentougou branch of Baihua Mountain. From there, you need to hike up the mountain, with an elevation gain of about 700 meters. Taking the shuttle bus can save you some energy. The scenery is beautiful, with mountain flower fields and seas of clouds – definitely worth a visit. A 200 RMB annual park pass allows one free entry.
