✨ Trip Summary
At the Auckland Museum, you can feel the weight of history and culture, while the Sky Tower offers a sense of the energy and future of a modern city. This journey through New Zealand was filled with learning and inspiration, leaving a lasting impression 🇳🇿.
The whole experience was great, and it's a great place to learn about New Zealand's history and culture. The museum is quite large and worth a good half-day visit. There are many interactive exhibits, especially suitable for taking children out. There are also Chinese services, which is recommended.
This is one of New Zealand's most iconic historical buildings, located in Auckland Central Park in the city center. It is known as the touchstone of New Zealand's culture and spirit. It is also New Zealand's first museum, a Gothic building in the classical style. The museum has a large number of Maori and Pacific Island artifacts. It also collects 1.2 million images and 1.5 million natural history specimens from botany, entomology, geology, terrestrial vertebrates and marine life. In front of the museum gate, there is a monument and the surrounding honor courtyard as a symbol of the war memorial. Entering the hall, there are two "Memory Halls", whose walls and some additional marble slabs list the names of the fallen martyrs to commemorate history. The exhibition hall mainly displays the life of the South Pacific islanders, with unique ethnic handicrafts, pictures and photos, as well as many restored Maori gathering places and daily necessities exhibitions, and life scene exhibits. The Auckland Museum has a long history and began to exhibit collections and exhibits in 1852. There is also a quote from the ancient Greek general Pericles, “The whole earth is the tomb of famous men,” prominently displayed in the museum’s front porch, making it consistent with the museum’s status as a memorial to matters of a military nature.
An incredible museum with something for everyone, with everything from dinosaurs to spitfire! I loved learning about the history of New Zealand’s and the pacific islands in particular
Auckland War Memorial Museum, also known as Auckland Museum, is located in Auckland Central Park. It mainly displays Maori history and culture, preserves relevant information on nature, the origin of life, and flora and fauna, and commemorates the history of World War II. There are three floors in the museum. The first floor mainly displays Maori culture, including Maori house architecture, sculptures, totems and handicrafts, as well as a 25-meter Maori war boat, so that everyone can have a deeper understanding of Maori culture. The second floor is mainly animal and plant specimens and information, focusing on nature, mainly ecological introduction. The third floor is the War Memorial, which exhibits weapons used in the two world wars to commemorate the soldiers who died in the war.
Auckland Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its place in the Pacific culture circle and New Zealanders. Auckland Museum holds Maori cultural performances every day and has internationally renowned Maori and Pacific Island collections. It is a must-see tourist attraction when visiting New Zealand.
The Auckland Museum is situated between Panell and New Market. It's still a long way from the downtown business district, on the park hill. The main building is surrounded by green space, overlooking the downtown Auckland from the upstairs. Open from 10:00 to 17:00 every day; ANZAC Day 06:45, closed for Christmas. The museum is divided into two entrances: south entrance and North entrance. Non-local people need to buy tickets. They are divided into simple tickets and tickets including Maori performances. Maori Cultural Performance: 12:00 a day. Four-storey museums include Maori cultural history, natural and ecological history of New Zealand, war history and some special exhibitions, such as a special exhibition on the life of Chinese immigrants from Central Otago to Central Otago during the Gold Rush in March. It takes a whole day to watch carefully. But I think it's hard to concentrate on it unless I'm a person with a strong desire for knowledge. Or I can divide it into two half-day tours. It showcases the original flag of New Zealand at various times in its history, and the physical objects of early aviation aircraft, which are worth seeing.
Auckland museum is incredibly diverse which stumble across various Maori treasures, war history relics, interesting aviation displays and maritime exhibits.奥克兰博物馆-难以置信的多样性,各种毛利人的珍宝,战争历史遗迹,有趣的航空和海事展览。
