    OK the Sanctuario del Picaflor (from now on: Hummingbird Sanctuary) in Azapa Valley (about 20-25 minutes drive from downtown Arica) is OPEN...BUT only along the main (dirt) road. There is no admission...

    Something different

    We went just before lunch at the end of February. Only saw a couple of hummingbirds in nests - we were a bit out of season. No mosquitos. The place is operated by people who obviously love the animals...

    A place to relax and enjoy

    A bit hard to find but once you are there, you will enjoy this peaceful setting and of course lots of hummingbirds. A small restaurant as well to. Plan in for a few quiet hours and just relax.
