Temporary reduced timetable on East Midlands Railway Intercity routes

      
      $Jul 22 to Jul 22
      Period:Wednesday, July 22, 2026 to Wednesday, July 22, 2026
      Operators:East Midlands Railway
Related Information:East Midlands Railway have introduced a temporary reduced Intercity timetable to help provide a more consistent and reliable service whilst they address issues with the performance and reliability of their trains. This is expected to be in place until further notice. Impact on service: As a result, the following services will not run: Weekdays: Southbound: 05:14 Nottingham - London St Pancras International. 08:15 Melton Mowbray - Kettering. 09:50 Nottingham - London St Pancras International. 10:50 Nottingham - London St Pancras International. 12:00 Sheffield - London St Pancras International. 14:35 Sheffield - London St Pancras International. 16:50 Nottingham - London St Pancras International. 17:00 Sheffield - London St Pancras International. 20:28 Sheffield - Derby. Sunday: Southbound: 15:47 Nottingham - London St Pancras International. 15:51 Sheffield - London St Pancras International. Northbound: 18:05 London St Pancras International - Nottingham. 18:32 London St Pancras International - Sheffield. 20:32 London St Pancras International - Sheffield. Additionally, throughout the week, some services will operate with fewer carriages than usual. You should also check before you travel for any additional disruption on the East Midlands Railway network. The temporary reduced timetable is also available in a PDF format. Ticket easements: If your booked service is affected, you can travel on up to two earlier or two later East Midlands Railway services, or, if you decide not to travel, you can claim a full refund from where you purchased the ticket. Can you tell me more? The introduction of the new Class 810 fleet to the East Midlands Railway network was designed to provide a smooth transition from the Class 222 fleet, with a significant period where both fleets would operate alongside one another under the maintenance of Hitachi Rail. However, a three-year delay in the first Class 810 trains coming into service, combined with ongoing service reliability issues across both fleets, has significantly impacted East Midlands Railway’s ability to run a reliable Intercity service. Introducing a temporary timetable will allow them to provide a more dependable service whilst they continue to work with Hitachi Rail to make the improvements needed as quickly as possible. FAQs: You can find more details and a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions on East Midlands Railway's website.
