London Northwestern Railway: Friday: A limited service will be in operation on the following routes only: Birmingham – Liverpool – 1 train per hour. London Euston – Crewe – 1 train per hour. Birmingham – London Euston via Northampton – 1 train per hour. Milton Keynes Central – London Euston – 1 train per hour. Watford Junction – St Albans Abbey – 1 train per hour. No trains will run past 19:00, with final departures significantly earlier. Saturday: A limited service will run on the following routes only: Birmingham – Liverpool – 1 train per hour. The forecast weather may cause trains to be disrupted. Heat can cause overhead lines to expand and sag, line-side fires and also rails to buckle. The following routes are currently affected: Between Chester and Wrexham General (expected until the end of the day): Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes. Between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth (expected until the end of the day): Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International (expected until the end of the day): Trains will be revised to to start / terminate at Wolverhampton. All stations between Wolverhampton and Birmingham International will not be served. Your ticket can be used on the following services at no extra cost: Avanti West Coast between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street. CrossCountry between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street. West Midlands Railway between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International. Saturday 11 July: Some services on the following routes will be cancelled in full, or revised to only run part of their normal journey: Between Birmingham International and Crewe / Chester / Aberystwyth / Llandudno Junction / Holyhead / Manchester Piccadilly. Between Birmingham New Street / Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth. Between Crewe and Wrexham General. Road transport and ticket acceptance have been requested on various routes to assist passengers. To reduce the risk of this happening, a number of points will be set for one route and not moved, protecting the route to and from London Paddington. Train services may be altered between London Paddington / Reading / Oxford. Please check your journey. Between 09:00 and 21:00, Great Western Railway local services which would normally call at Twyford, Maidenhead and Slough will run non-stop between Reading and London Paddington in both directions. Some services between Oxford and London Paddington will also be cancelled resulting in a reduction in frequency of train services between London Paddington, Reading / Oxford in both directions. Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost on CrossCountry train services between Banbury, Oxford and Reading in both directions. Any customers arriving at Oxford wishing to travel to Reading or London Paddington may travel on a CrossCountry train service to Reading, changing there for a frequent connecting train service to London Paddington.
