Period:Wednesday, July 22, 2026 to Wednesday, July 22, 2026
Operators:Transport for Wales
Related Information:There are more trains than usual requiring repairs across the Transport for Wales network today. This means that there are fewer train sets available to operate on some routes.
As a result, some routes will run a reduced service, and some will have no train service at all.
This is expected to be the case for the entire day.
The following routes are currently being impacted by this issue:
Between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa (until the end of the day):
A reduced service is currently in operation on this route.
Buses will run between Newport (South Wales) and Gloucester (operated by Teulu, Cymru Coaches, Ferris JKT, and Applegates Coaches).
To help you complete your journey, your tickets can be used at no extra cost on the following services:
CrossCountry between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa
Newport Buses routes X74 and 74
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do so at no extra cost.
Road transportation will take longer than train services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
Between Wrexham General and Chester (until the end of the day):
A reduced service is currently in operation on this route.
You are advised to travel on the next available service where possible.
To help you complete your journey, your tickets can be used at no extra cost on Arriva Buses route 1 between Chester and Wrexham.
