"Checked in December 24 and surprised with no Queue. Very smooth and fast. Staff are very attentive and polite. Cleanliness is superb. Amenities are just as nice although for kids, not much like in Shangri-la with special toiletries for kids and in Fullerton where we were given colouring sets, ice cream coupon, and free workshops during festive seasons. It's really an Oasis at the heart of the city. There was a Christmas Carolling at the lobby for two consecutive days and we also enjoy it. Shopping district are minutes away! Definitely will recommend for my friends overseas and surely will come back here again."

"The hotel location is very good, near to Chinatown area. It is very convenient. Many restaurants around the hotel. Coffeeshops and even hawker center within walking distance. Hotel service consider not bad. Check in take about 10min as i think they are doing last min check on our room. The hotel lobby furniture look grand. Very suitable for taking photos. The room is very clean. Because of promotion, everything in the mini-bar is free. They still provide a bottle of red wine. My wife really enjoy the bathtub while drinking the red wine. There is lots of movie to see while resting on the bed. The bed is king size bed, very comfortable. The pillow is good, not like other hotel soft soft type kind. Aircon temperature can be adjust in room. Overall this is a good and nice hotel. Price is very reasonable."

"Booked a horizon club room and Check-in was fast and seamless. Room had a nice view. Also the bed was very comfortable Food at shang palace was excellent  Interactions with staff generally very pleasant  Gian at lounge was always asking if I needed anything , and made me a mocktail despite the lounge not having any, Ella recommended me some tea Lobby interaction with Hakim was nice and Jaya Raj at Line was also very friendly Massive gym with plenty of equipment and nice, huge, swimming pool Also noticed staff at health spa hard at work , frequently cleaning/disinfecting the gym equipment Huge variety of breakfast at the Line, although it was more quantity than quality. Although the lounge breakfast had quite a different array of food and of higher quality. Will definitely return again."

"Overall disappointed with the stay and the amount paid for the stay!!! Should have used the amount to travel instead! My room 3111 aircon stopped working from 12am to 3am out of sudden during our sleep. The room was unbearably warm to sleep in during the outage. We tried to reset the Aircon but to no avail it did not work…We called for assistance but there was no technician on site to assist in the wee hours and hence we just to bear with it. Our room Aircon miraculously started working at 4am out of sudden but the Aircon was blowing air that’s not cold.. Further checks from the front desk in the morning confirmed that there was no aircon maintenance or Aircon outage happening during that period the outage occurred in our room and we should not have experienced this outage. Nevertheless, it was not only our aircon that gave us problems during our stay. The room tv also gave us issues. Before turning in, we were watching the dark knight airing on HBO channel with everything working normally. However, early in the wee house during the aircon outage. We decided to ride it out by just watching tv hoping the Aircon would start working again. But to our surprise, after we turn on our tv. All the usual pre-programmed tv programs that we can browse a couple of hours ago before turning in was gone and we were prompted to setup the tv from scratch but to no avail..A broken Aircon and a broken tv plagued our stay with Ritz Carlton while celebrating our honey moon oh well.. When morning finally arrived, we called the front desk at 8.30am which took ages to answer our call to send the technician over to have our room tv and Aircon checked out. The technician who attended to us was also puzzled with the issues we faced and were unable to rectify the reported issue collectively and also informed us that this should not have happened to us. We stayed twice, but on both occasions we were plagued with disappointment with either the room or the room amenities that failed to work. Perhaps this is the work of a divine being at large."

"The Raffles Singapore is a one of a kind experience with no comparison. We stayed for 8 days/7 nights, it felt very much like a home. The buildings are beautifully and tastfully decorated. The rooms are beautiful with a mix of modern and colonial style. Even the standard room is a suite with a separated parlour which has its own controls for lights and ac. The staff are excellent and always ready to help. We had issues arise and talked to management and they listened and corrected the issues in a timely manner. We had a tasting experience meal at the grand lobby on the first night, dinner and at Le Dame Du Pic and drinks at the Writers Bar. The selection of bars and eateries have you covered for any taste you want, we didn't manage to try all the hotel has to offer as Singapore has such a great food scene in the hawker centres. It's location is excellent nestled between key tourist areas in Singapore and easy access to the metro at the City Hall station"

She kindly upgraded my room to a waterfront view and I was so glad she did. The newly renovated hotel room was superb and the view was the cherry on top. There was even a water dispenser so I didn’t have to get my own bottled watter. Would definitely recommend you guys to book a room with them!"

"There are 2 places for breakfast. Clove and Asian market place. The former is international while the latter is halal and has more asian food. On our first morning we only got down close to 930am and there was a long queue at Clove. There was a hotel staff present and directed those who wants to avoid queuing to Asian market place. On our second morning, we deliberately made it down at 730am and there was no queue at Clove. After trying both, i would say more than 50% of the food are similar as there are staples like egg station, porridge, bread, cereal, drinks, hash brown, sausages, etc. Food quality and taste is slightly above average. There are misses but most food taste ok. Fairmont and Swissotel share pools, and the pools look nice. Check out is very smooth, via self-checkout. Almost forgot to mention: Andik checked us in and arranged a cake for us. The cake was delicious! There is also welcome drinks voucher for those who signed up for complimentary Accor member. We used ours at Antidote and got a cocktail each! Very very satisfied. Kudos to Andik! Would definitely come back again. Totally love the room, service and view!"

"For the price that the guests are able to fork out for this hotel,  one might expect them to be able to behave with some decorum/manners, or at least with some social responsibility. But this was certainly not the case during my encounters with some of the guests in this hotel.  Once, I encountered someone as he came out of the lift, and i could hear him coughing along the corridor as the lift doors closed.  Please wear a mask.  On another occasion, someone entered the lift, coughing heavily inside that enclosed space.  Please wear a mask. In both cases, the guests didn't even bother to cover their mouths. Thirdly, when I was checking-in, someone simply stretched out her hand to put her card on the counter, stood there for a while, before muttering "check-out", and left. Perhaps i was transparent and she could not see that the receptionist was serving me. Such entitled behavior. I was somehow reminded of how a prankster handed Theresa May a P45 during her party conference in 2017.  Fourth, someone barged into the lift while I was walking out, as though assuming that it would be empty. Next, I ordered takeaway lunch at Jiang Nan Chun, and the server told me that I was using an older menu when it clearly wasn't. It just happened to be a discrepancy between the physical and online menu, and told me to use the physical one instead (which I wasn't shown beforehand). I had encountered a similar price discrepancy at another establishment, and I believe that it would do good for the staff at Jiang Nan Chun to learn from them: What the other establishment did was to admit that the price discrepancy was their error, and that they were going to honor what they had published online.  Later on, their boss told me that "when something like this happens, we honor it, and investigate or rectify it later".  I'm also perplexed/baffled about how the restaurant staff at Jiang Nan Chun had assumed that I was only ordering food for 1 person, especially when there were 6 dishes involved. Thirdly, I ordered takeaway from one-ninety, and the server asked if I wanted it sent to the room. I was told that the price would be the same regardless of whether I brought the food up myself or whether it was delivered to my room, so I opted for the latter.  Therefore, it came as a shock when I saw that I needed to pay service charge for the takeaway. When I enquired at the restaurant, they said that it was because I had asked for the food to be delivered to the room (when I was told by someone else that there would be no difference in price if i had collected it myself). The hotel eventually refunded me the service charge, but this misunderstanding could, and should have been averted with clearer communication. The rooms are a bit old, with cracks on the window/tables, but otherwise quite nice and spacious. It wasn't exactly clean though,  dust and some sticky substance on the window, some dust on carpet and certain things that might have/could have been animal fur (although the operator said that this was not the case). Breakfast was good, and most of the dishes were very nice. But it was rather inconsistent. For example, my hot chocolate had choco flakes in them, but my partner's didn't have any. Upon enquiry, the server said that perhaps they had "forgotten" to put them inside. A better level of service would have been to asked if we wanted a replacement (i told the server that we didn't want anymore, just in case she decided to bring one for me later on) Having said all that, I was genuinely surprised during turndown service. I put my computer mouse on one of their magazines, as the table was quite slippery. When I came back from dinner, this was replaced with a mousepad. The first time I've experience this in a hotel."

"Positives: - Floor to ceiling windows make the room brighter and view better - Room seems bigger than the 30 square metres advertised - sound insulation is good - bed is comfy - media port for easy connectivity of hdmi - while old, the rooms do not look tired, with the exception of the bathroom - club lounge evening cocktail food was fantastic, both in terms of quantity and quality Negatives - Toilet is very small - tub/shower combi makes the floor wet and 2 persons cannot shower/soak in the tub simultaneously - no bedside usb slots - no Nespresso machine - dreaded ame toothpaste - staff were efficient without being more pro-active - had to manually draw curtains - room can be a tad dark at night"
