Yanshen Ancient Town

Yanshen, an ancient and fashionable town, switches between multiple dimensions of time and space, and offers a magical and mysterious night tour. It is a unique experience that is very different from other ancient towns. It is worth a special trip to check in. Yanshen Ancient Town is located in Shantou Street, Boshan District, Zibo City, Shandong Province. It is a traditional block featuring a cluster of ancient kilns. Since the Northern Song Dynasty, the ceramic industry has flourished in this area, and craftsmen have gathered. The kiln fires are intertwined with the fireworks of the market, full of strange charm. The ancient town covers a total area of 900 acres. The first phase, which has been formed, is a relatively concentrated section of traditional buildings, covering an area of 150 acres. It has a nostalgic factory area, 13 ancient kilns and a long Ming and Qing ancient building complex, including homestay hotels, food streets, restaurants, bars, theaters, ceramic glass experience halls, artist studios, museums and exhibition halls, shops and other leisure facilities. It integrates sightseeing, leisure vacations, education and research, business exhibitions, creative culture and other tourism formats. It is a tourist resort destination with excellent services and facilities, high participation and experience. Yanshen has more than one side and more than one kind of fun. Yanshen is rich in diversity. Each area retains the imprint of different eras. The temperament of the place is significantly different, representing various historical sections of Yanshen culture. Walking through it, you can travel through the past and present. The old factory area has a nostalgic industrial style: the old factory area of the ancient town is a factory building from the 1950s. It was once the largest ceramic factory in Asia. The fifth workshop of Boshan Ceramics Factory is located here. The square factory building, towering chimney, and the long tunnel kiln inside are worth traveling through.Zibo · 41.8km from downtown

This is a relatively famous tourist attraction in Zibo. Because it was the National Day Golden Week, it was packed with tourists, making the already narrow streets even more congested. The streets are lined with a dazzling array of small shops, and there are also several venues to visit.

The scenery is absolutely stunning! The ancient village itself is amazing, but the facilities are lacking and the management isn't great. Many restaurants are closed, and you need to buy a separate ticket for Kapibala. Kapibala Utopia is sparsely populated, but it smells terrible. I don't know how long Kapibala hasn't been cleaned; it's dirtier than a pig!

A stunningly high-quality museum, filled with history and beautiful artifacts, the national porcelain display is particularly unique! The porcelain used at state banquets is truly extraordinary; seeing set after set is simply dazzling and overwhelming.

Taking advantage of the end of the children's summer vacation, we drove to Zibo for a few days. We allocated one day to Tanxi Mountain. Tanxi Mountain is located in Zichuan District, under the jurisdiction of Zibo City, adjacent to Taihe Reservoir, an important water source for Zibo. To make our visit easier and more convenient, we bought a package ticket that included the shuttle bus, the mountain elevator, the glass walkway, the downhill slide, and rafting. The parking lot at the scenic area had plenty of spaces. After parking, we entered through the main gate. First, we saw a welcoming waterfall; after walking about 1 kilometer, we reached the shuttle bus station. The shuttle bus took us to the mountain elevator entrance, where we transferred to the elevator to go directly to the top of the mountain. After exiting the elevator, we could go to the viewing platform on the glass walkway to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Then, we walked downhill for about 2 kilometers to reach the slide. The slide is about 1 kilometer long. The only drawback is that there are a few turns where you have to stand up and walk a few steps to reach the next slide; you can't go all the way down. The rafting takes place on a high-altitude glass walkway, with two people per raft. The park provides free raincoats, which are quite waterproof; I reached the finish line relatively dry. The descent is quite thrilling, especially the several large loops, which are very exciting. If you want to record video, it's best to use a headset action camera. Taking photos and videos with your phone isn't very safe. There are also dedicated camera cameras in the park, and there are signs indicating the photo spots along the rafting route, so you can pose for photos. You can retrieve your photos for free by scanning a QR code at the finish line, which is very thoughtful. The parking lot is about 1 kilometer from the rafting finish line. The overall route is quite well-designed, and apart from the slightly expensive package ticket, everything else is great.

I visited Yanshen Ancient Town on July 2nd. Traveling during off-peak hours made for a fantastic experience; the park wasn't crowded, making for a very pleasant stroll. A dedicated guide accompanied me throughout, providing detailed explanations of the town's thousand-year history of pottery and glass, and the origins of its ancient kilns. The information was rich and easy to understand. The most impressive part was the live demonstration of intangible cultural heritage glassmaking. Witnessing artisans transforming high-temperature glass into translucent objects in their hands was a firsthand experience of the charm of traditional craftsmanship. The ancient alleys and kilns were full of atmosphere and rich in cultural heritage. The combination of guided tours and intangible cultural heritage performances made the trip fulfilling and engaging, with attentive and thoughtful service. Afterwards, I went directly to the Glass Grand View Garden across the street for shopping. Very convenient!

The overall scenery is very good. It was November when I went there. It was a little bleak in late autumn, but the fallen leaves 🍂 were also very beautiful. Those with children can go to the second floor of Zhongshuge. There is a popular photo spot on the first floor, which is a balcony-style corridor that extends slightly.

Online ticket purchase is simple; just scan the code to enter the park without queuing. Liaozhai City is the hometown of Pu Songling, rich in cultural heritage. Shiyin Garden and Liuquan are full of ancient charm, while Liaozhai Palace uses sound and light to bring the stories of Nie Xiaoqian and Painted Skin to life, creating a highly immersive experience. At night, red lanterns illuminate the area, along with NPC parades and live performances, maximizing the atmosphere. A leisurely 2-3 hours is just right for exploring, perfect for taking photos in the ancient style. It's recommended to come in the afternoon to enjoy both day and night views.
