After visiting Chongqing during the National Day holiday, we took the bullet train directly to Diaoyucheng in Hechuan. Even the rain didn't deter us from climbing to the top. The scenery along the way was beautiful, with lush vegetation on the mountain. From the summit, we could overlook the three rivers (Jialing River, Fujiang River, and Qujiang River), surrounded by cliffs on three sides. The mountain features a complete mountain defense system, including an arsenal (nine cooking pots), a naval dock, secret passages, and a single-line city wall. Along the way, we visited ancient battlefield relics, including the Huguo Gate, the city wall, the Fanjiayan government office ruins, and the Wang Jian Commemorative Stele. These are all highlights. The ruins are authentic, not entirely renovated replicas. Many Song Dynasty city wall and artillery emplacements are preserved, although some sites are now just fragments. A complete hike up the mountain takes about 3 hours.
