In the 5th and 6th centuries AD, the Gupta dynasty began to pay attention to Buddhism. A large number of Buddhist buildings were built in Sarnath. The Damek Stupa, which is now the landmark of Sarnath, was built during this period. On the day we went there, there was an event here, and many believers circled the stupa clockwise.
