The Alps stretch across south-central Europe, spanning France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, and Slovenia, and are the main mountain system in south-central Europe. Continuous snow-capped peaks, deep glacial valleys, and scattered alpine lakes together form the typical natural landscape here. The mountains are home to numerous peaks and observation decks, each with its own unique characteristics.Mont Blanchas an elevation of approx. 4,800 m and is the main peak of the Alps; the Matterhorn is famous for its pyramid shape; the cogwheel railway terminus in the Jungfrau region is at an altitude of over 3,400 m, allowing passengers to ascend to a high point surrounded by glaciers and snow-capped peaks. The hiking route aroundMont Blanc, which runs through France, Switzerland, and Italy, is approx. 170 km long and is a classic long-distance hiking trail. In winter, the Alps feature numerous ski resorts such as Chamonix, Zermatt, and Sankt Anton am Arlberg, with a long ski season and excellent snow quality. Summer is the main season for alpine hiking and mountain biking, with trails passing through meadows blooming with wildflowers and quaint mountain villages. A dense network of alpine cable cars and scenic railways connects multiple high-altitude viewpoints, allowing visitors to easily reach observation decks at altitudes of several thousand meters to overlook the panoramic views of rolling peaks and glaciers.Furna · 7.3km from Plessur District

The cable car runs from the Chur Stadt station directly to the top of the mountain at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. In summer, it is famous for hiking and mountain biking, with 50 kilometers of well-marked trails covering Alpine meadows, pine forests and glacier landscapes, and many family-friendly routes, such as the 1.5-hour Brambrüesch Lake Loop. The mountaintop restaurant offers simple local meals, and its terrace overlooks the Rhine Valley. A section of the Albula-Bernina area is one of the world's most famous narrow-gauge railways. This much-lauded route connects St. Moritz, the eastern tip of Switzerland, with the Italian city of Tirano, and along the route, you can see three glaciers up close. The Bernina Express is a 270-degree sightseeing window with no dead ends. The first thing you see when you leave the St. Moritz station is the Moltrazy Glacier. The huge blue ice tongue is shocking, and the large glacier scenery makes People are overwhelmed.Chur · 2.7km from downtown

Bernina Express is one of the most iconic scenic railways in the Alps. The train departs from Chur in the Canton of the Grisons, Switzerland, passes through Saint Moritz, the Bernina Pass, and the Poschiavo Valley, and arrives in Tirano, Italy, connecting mountains, glaciers, lakes, canyons, and Southern European towns along the way. The Bernina and Albula railways were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008. The joy of riding the train lies in the ever-changing natural scenery along the route. The train travels through the high Alpine region, where you can see the Morteratsch Glacier, the Bernina peaks, and Lago Bianco, and reaches the highest point of the line at Ospizio Bernina station at approx. 2253m. Afterward, the train descends into the Poschiavo Valley, passing through numerous bridges and tunnels, among which the Brusio spiral viaduct is particularly distinctive. The entire route passes through approx. 196 bridges and 55 tunnels.Chur · 420m from downtown

Ski resorts: It is recommended to choose a resort close to the ski slopes, such as Courchevel, Megève, Interlaken, etc. Resorts usually provide ski passes and equipment rental services. Specialty food in the scenic area: sausage and sauerkraut, Swiss chocolate, Swiss cheese fondue

The journey from Chur (Switzerland) to Tirano (Italy) and back to Chur will take almost the whole day. I’d consider this as one of the most beautiful scenic trains in the world. Bernina Express will not disappoint you. Lifetime experience indeed.
