Things to do in Mei County

After a snowfall, Mount Taibai is like a long ink painting scroll atop the main peak of the Qinling Mountains. Icefalls hang suspended, rime adorns the branches, and a sea of clouds surges between the snow-capped ridges. Since ancient times, this place has been known for the spectacular scenery of "Taibai snow in June," a wonder of Guanzhong, both tranquil and magnificent.

During the National Day holiday, cars were allowed to drive in. It was nothing compared to the crowds at Taibai Mountain. I chose to hike to see the largest waterfall, Doumu Waterfall. Even for someone like me who walks slowly, it took about two hours to reach the waterfall.

Wuzhangyuan in Qishan was the final resting place of Zhuge Liang's life. In the autumn of 234 AD, Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu Han, led his army on a northern expedition, stationing his troops here to confront Sima Yi across the Wei River. Ultimately, he "died before achieving his goal," forever freezing the last moments of his life on this loess plateau. The Zhuge Liang Temple at Wuzhangyuan was first built in the Yuan Dynasty, and most of the existing buildings are from the Qing Dynasty. Its most unique layout is that the entire structure faces north, backed by the majestic Qinling Mountains and facing the surging Wei River, symbolizing Zhuge Liang's unfulfilled ambition to "pacify the Central Plains."

There are many hot spring pools here, you can choose any one, the water quality looks good, the temperature is about 30-40 degrees, each pool is different. The water in the fish therapy pool is a bit dirty, the fish poop is visible in the water... There is a small swimming pool here, the water is a bit shallow and the water temperature is a bit high, so it is hard to swim.

Here are some activities available in Tang Town, Taibai Mountain in November: ● Deer Wilderness Family Park: Located at the foot of Taibai Mountain, this family park features hot springs and is surrounded by mountains and water. Famen Temple is a national treasure. The Famen Underground Palace, guarded for a thousand years, still shines with Buddhist light. The power of faith endures through the ages. The Ming Dynasty people had already discovered the underground palace, but they quietly protected it, allowing the relics to continue to be passed down for centuries, until finally the Buddha's relics saw the light of day again. With Doubao (a local deity), there's no need for a guide. The park is intentionally large; if you're in a hurry, take the sightseeing bus; if you have time, explore on foot. While Famen Temple itself was built later, the pagoda and underground palace are millennia-old relics, and the many rare treasures unearthed there are well worth seeing.

Very good hot springs, many pools, many kinds of medicinal baths, free tea, and towels are provided in a timely manner. There is also a children's water park, where the children have a lot of fun.

A hidden gem of a hot spring hidden in the mountains! Surrounded by lush greenery, the pool offers incredible privacy. Soaking in the water while listening to the birdsong feels like a gentle conversation with nature. The water is truly exceptional! It's smooth and non-drying, leaving your skin feeling hydrated. With a wide selection of temperatures, from 38°C to 42°C, there's sure to be one that suits you! The staff are incredibly attentive! From handing out towels to reminding you about the pool temperature and safety, they're always there to answer any questions you may have. 🫰🫰🫰

20230407 All Day: 1. "The World Cableway" is located in the 5A scenic spot "Taibai Mountain". Taibai Mountain is the main mountain range of Qinling Mountains and the dividing line between north and south China. It is magnificent and majestic. The top of the mountain is covered with ice and snow all year round, including midsummer. "Taibai Snow in June" has been one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Guanzhong" since ancient times. The peak is 3,767 meters above sea level, with dense vegetation and dense wild animals. It is not only a holy place for health and fitness, but also a place where you can occasionally encounter various wild animals. In history, there are the "Poet Immortal" Li Bai, "Poet Saint" Du Fu, Su Shi and Han Yu, one of the "Eight Great Masters of Tang and Song Dynasties", "King of Medicine" Sun Simiao, as well as the legendary Zhou Wenwang, Tang Xuanzong, Guiguzi, Jiang Ziya and other celebrities. It was called "Wu Mountain" in the Xia and Shang Dynasties, "Taiyi Mountain" in the Zhou Dynasty, and Taibai Mountain after the Wei and Jin Dynasties. There is a Taibai Mountain Temple Fair on the first day of the seventh lunar month every year. ①Address: The intersection of Central Avenue and Yingbin Avenue, Tangyu Town, Mei County, Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. ②Transportation: Direct bus access, easy to park by car. ③Peak season: None, there are snow scenes most of the year, and you can escape the heat in summer. ④Time: 1-2 days. ⑤Notes: According to the weather conditions, the tourist center of the scenic area will announce the open area of the day at 8:30 every day. If you want to climb to the top, you need to pay attention to the weather forecast and choose a sunny day to go to the scenic area. 2. The winding mountain road from the "tourist center" to the cableway station in the scenic area is more than 30 kilometers, which also means that tourists must take the scenic area shuttle bus, which costs 60 yuan round trip. The journey is too long and the price is also reasonable. The scenic area is roughly divided into 3 sections: the first section is from the tourist center to the cableway station. There are two Taibai Mountain cableways: "Tianxia Cableway" goes directly from the lower station "Honghuaping" to the upper station "Tianyuandifang" (because the altitude here is 3511 meters, commonly known as "3511"), which can be done in one step, saving the most effort and time. It is a must-take for those who plan to climb to the top in one day.
