This was once a private villa built by French artist Jacques Majorelle, and later bought by French fashion master Yves Saint Laurent and lived here for several years. Now open to become a popular attraction in Marrakech, the garden is full of rare plants, surrounded by a blue villa, as well as the tombstone of Yves Saint Laurent and a small cafe. French artist Jacques Majorelle acquired a piece of land on the outskirts of Marrakech (now the new district of the city) in 1924, and then devoted almost his entire life experience to designing and building this garden, collecting various plants from all over the world to build a cactus garden , vine promenade, lotus pond, bamboo forest trail... It is said that there are more than 100 kinds of cactus alone. The garden is filled with the painter's favorite blue, and villas, vases, walls, pools, etc., all have this bright and pure blue. This blue was later called Majorelle blue. Until the painter died in a car accident in 1962, the garden was slowly abandoned. In 1980, Yves Saint Laurent and his legendary gay partner Pierre Berge discovered the Majorelle garden in Marrakech and immediately bought the garden. For nearly 30 years, the master lived in the Majorelle garden every spring. On June 1, 2008, the costume master passed away. Pierre Berge scatters his ashes in the garden to fulfill the master's wish. Now the villa has been turned into a museum, and in a room behind the villa, Yves Saint Laurent's manuscripts are displayed.Marrakech · 927m from downtown

Marrakesh is located in southern Morocco and is known as the "Red City" due to the ochre-red earth used in most of its architecture. The heart of the city is the Medina, a World Heritage site densely packed with winding alleys and open-air markets. Souk Semmarine is one of the larger markets in the old city, offering everything from handmade carpets and leather goods to spices and copper lamps. Wandering through it is a cultural experience in itself. The center of the old city is Jemaa el-Fnaa. During the day, the square is filled with fruit juice stalls and handicraft booths, while at night it transforms into an open-air food street where snake charmers, storytellers, and traditional musicians take turns performing. Near the square stands the 12th-century Koutoubia. Its towering minaret is the city's landmark, and the gardens surrounding the mosque are also worth a visit. Bahia Palace showcases the craftsmanship of traditional Moroccan architecture, with its exquisite courtyards, carved wooden doors, and inlaid tiles. Outside the old city, the Majorelle Garden is famous for its unique "Majorelle Blue" architecture and exotic plants. It was created by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored and preserved by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. At sunset, find a rooftop café in the old city, order a pot of mint tea, and watch the sunset cast an even richer glow on the ochre-red walls—this is one of the quintessential Marrakesh experiences.Marrakech · 1.5km from downtown

Jemaa el-Fnaa is located in theold city of Marrakech, the heart of this thousand-year-old city, serving as both a public square for local gatherings and a traditional open-air market. The square's charm lies in its completely different appearance by day and night. During the day, stalls selling freshly squeezed orange juice, spices, and traditional herbs line up, while snake charmers and monkey trainers occupy corners of the square, and traditional dentists set up shop on the street. After dark, the entire square is transformed, with stalls serving Moroccan snacks like grilled meats and tagines packed closely together, Berber musicians and Gnaoua dancers begin their evening performances, acrobats and storytellers improvise for the crowds, and henna artists set up stalls to attract customers.Marrakech · 1.3km from downtown

Bahia Palace

Bahia Palace is a well-preserved 19th-century palace complex in Morocco. Construction began in the 1860s under the direction of Si Moussa, a grand vizier to the Sultan of Morocco, and was later significantly expanded by his son, Ba Ahmed, between 1894 and 1900. "Bahia" means "brilliant" in Arabic and is said to be the name of one of Ba Ahmed's favorite wives. The entire palace covers nearly two hectares, with approximately 150 rooms arranged around multiple courtyards and interior gardens, creating a maze-like layout due to its phased expansion. The grand courtyard is paved with Italian Carrara marble and surrounded by painted wooden colonnades, with dozens of rooms nearby believed to have been the living quarters for Ba Ahmed's harem. The grand hall at the east end of the courtyard features the palace's most impressive painted cedar wood ceiling. The large garden on the north side is the oldest part of the palace and still retains trees planted in the 19th century. The palace's decoration embodies the essence of traditional Moroccan craftsmanship: walls are adorned with plaster reliefs carved with Arabic inscriptions, geometric patterns, and floral vines; floors are paved with hand-cut, colorful glazed mosaic tiles; and ceilings are decorated with painted cedar wood patterns. The materials used in its construction were brought from all over Morocco—marble from Meknes, cedar wood from the Middle Atlas Mountains, and tiles from Tetouan—and were completed through the collaboration of artisans from across the country.Marrakech · 2.1km from downtown

The Koutoubia Mosque is the symbol of Marrakech and the center and highest point of the old city of Marrakech. The mosque was built in 1195 by Jakub El Mansur, the architect who built the Hassan Tower in Rabat that year, to commemorate the victory over the Spanish. The minaret of the mosque is 67 meters high and has a magnificent appearance. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in North Africa. Compared with other mosques, the uniqueness of Koutoubia Mosque is that when the minaret was built, nearly 10,000 bags of precious spices were mixed into the mud that glued the stones, which made the mosque emit a rich aroma, which is still fragrant to this day. It is tangy, so it is also known as the "fragrant tower". Another unique feature of the Koutoubia Mosque is that the muezzin who climbed the tower to call people to pray must be blind. The mosque is not open to the public, only to Muslims. The small garden surrounding the mosque is built in the style of a French garden, overflowing with fragrant flowers.Marrakech · 1.2km from downtown

The Badi Palace is an ancient royal palace in Morocco. There are as many as 300 rooms in the palace. Later kings removed a lot of building materials from here when building the new palace, turning the palace into ruins. Now the relevant departments are repairing it, and there are only some vacant rooms in the part that can be visited.Marrakech · 2.1km from downtown

The Saadian Tomb is located in Marrakech and is the tomb of the Sardinian dynasty. The Sardinian dynasty existed in the 16th and 17th centuries and is said to be a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. About 60 members of the royal family are buried in the cemetery. The architectural craftsmanship of the Saadian tomb is very worth mentioning, reflecting the skills of Arab craftsmen. You can see the exquisite wood carving ceiling, which is worth seeing. The most famous of the tombs of the Saadian Tombs are the twelve-column chambers. Among them is the tomb of the sultan's son, Ahmed Mansur. The stele is meticulously crafted on a cedar wood base, and the monument is made of Italian Carrara marble. Outside the main tomb are the gardens and the tombs of the tomb master's soldiers and servants.Marrakech · 2.1km from downtown

Djemaa dl Fna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Grand Bazaar of the Old City; the Grand Bazaar of the Old City has thousands of shops selling all kinds of handicrafts, and skilled craftsmen everywhere make fine products. Wood products, leather products, iron products, metal products, as well as ceramics, wool, sheepskin lamps, olives and the most famous Moroccan slippers, etc., are a shopper's paradise; Djema Square is even more lively, and the square is the horse racing The epitome of the people's life in Lakash, there are also various street performances such as acrobatics, belly dancing, fire eaters, snake charmers, monkey dancers, etc.

Marrakech is the largest city in southern Morocco. The ancient city here is also the largest market in Africa. The currency here is the dirham. In fact, riding a hot air balloon is really romantic. From the top, it seems that the world is at your feet, and the scenery here is beautiful.

This garden is hidden in the old town. It is quiet in the bustling city. It is really a "secret garden" as its name suggests. It is a quiet and elegant garden. Although it is not as big as YSL, there are few tourists. There is no rush to check in at the attractions in YSL. Instead, you can slow down and enjoy it slowly.
