Amazon River

Amazon River originates in the Andes in Peru, flows from west to east across the South American continent, and empties into the Atlantic Ocean in northern Brazil. Its main stream flows through Peru, Colombia, and Brazil, with most of its course located within Brazil. The basin covers several countries in South America, with numerous tributaries and a discharge volume that far exceeds that of other rivers. Visitors can travel by boat along the river through the vast tropical rainforest. In the waters near Manaus, they have the opportunity to observe the Amazon river dolphin.
