It is an important 18th-century British colonial military fort and one of the area's iconic historical and cultural attractions. The fort was built during the French and Indian War by British forces to defend against French attacks and to control the key transportation route between Lake George and the Hudson River valley. Later, the fort was captured and destroyed by French forces after the Siege of Fort William Henry. The Fort William Henry visitors see today has been rebuilt and restored on its original site as a history museum. The museum displays 18th-century arms, uniforms, daily items, maps, and wartime artifacts, and through living-history reenactments, guided tours, and interactive exhibits, presents the history of Anglo-French colonial conflict in North America. A truly iconic building that’s absolutely worth a visit, especially the 86th‑floor open‑air observatory. The views were jaw‑dropping and easily some of my favourite I’ve ever seen. Just love it ♥️

Perhaps because the summer holidays are over, there were no lines. It was very convenient to scan the code to enter. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is very large, so you can stroll around at your own pace. If you get tired, there are places to grab a drink or a snack. The US is a large country, not crowded. Even in very lively areas, there are plenty of places to rest, which is very thoughtful.
