Kauai

Spouting Horn

Wailua Falls is located on the Wailua River on Kauai and is about 80 feet (24 meters) high.
The falls can be seen from a roadside viewing platform. It used to be possible to hike to the base of the falls, but now it is not allowed due to safety concerns. The entrance to the hiking trail has been blocked by barbed wire.
Many people also kayak or take a boat tour of the Wailua River to reach the falls, which allows a closer view of the falls and the lush tropical landscape.
Wailua Falls is important to Hawaiian culture. Locals believe that Hawaiian gods and goddesses live in the falls, so it is an important location for celebrations and ceremonies.
