Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh Fort, still managed by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, is a very charming place. A must-go place in Jodhpur. Jaswant Thada

The Jaswant Shrine is an ornate, creamy-white marble memorial built on a basalt rock. Built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, it symbolizes the glory of the bygone ruler. Constructed in 1899, the memorial is flanked by a crematorium and three other cenotaphs. It features carved wooden doors and marble latticework on the windows. The marble for the memorial was transported from Makrana, 240 kilometers away, and appears translucent in places.
