Tuo Luo Keng was one of the highlights of my Fujian trip. The view from above — the famous “Four Dishes and One Soup” — was breathtaking, and walking inside the tulou gave me a glimpse of real Hakka life: wooden balconies, families drying produce, and tea stalls. What made the trip extra special was our guide, Kathy. She explained the history in clear English, made everything easy to understand, and even brought us to a local pearl store. Unlike touristy shops, this place felt authentic with fair prices and friendly sellers. It turned the visit into more than sightseeing — it felt like a cultural exchange. 💡 Tip: Ask for Kathy if you want an English-speaking guide who goes beyond the usual tour. She made our day smooth, fun, and memorable.

Joining a tour group in Zhangzhou and then taking a SF Express car to Xiamen was a fantastic itinerary. Yongding is home to the most representative Tulou (earthen buildings), and Yunshuiyao connects the Tulou with the surrounding mountains and rivers. We even got to visit the Tulou for free at the end! Our driver, Mr. Yang (vehicle number 8113), thoughtfully gave us tips to avoid pitfalls. His service was excellent; he proactively helped with our luggage and always had a smile on his face. The minivan was spotless inside and out, and he drove incredibly smoothly. His familiarity with the roads was beyond my expectations. The efficient, safe, and stable speed made me, someone who usually gets carsick, feel nothing. Mr. Yang's pride in Xiamen and his unique introduction made me even more excited for the next two days of the trip. Honestly, the first impression of every city comes from the words and actions of its ordinary drivers. Today's Tulou trip was very pleasant and relaxing. Thank you, Mr. Yang, and thank you, Guide Jiang, for today's tour!
