Reviews: Tajikistan Seven Lakes Day trip from Samarkand with Lunch

We had a wonderful day in Tajikistan with our guide, Zhan. After departing from Samarkand, we were driven to the border. On the Tajik side, Zhan and our driver, Mansur, gave us a warm welcome. Shortly after, we set off towards the mountains and lakes, while Zhan told us about Tajikistan. After a brief stop at the bazaar in Panjakent (to exchange money, do some shopping, etc.), we drove for almost two hours through the valley with its stunning scenery. We had lunch together at the seventh (and last) lake. Zhan also interacted with us guests throughout the trip and even proactively offered to take photos. It should also be mentioned that Mansur is an extremely experienced and skilled driver. The mountain road is not for beginners and requires composure and expertise. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves nature and wants a trip away from Samarkand.

I booked this tour to travel from Samarkand to the Seven Lakes in Tajikistan. Many other tours were quite expensive, so I chose this one because it was reasonably priced. They picked me up at my hotel at 6:30 AM, drove me for about an hour to the border, and after going through U.S. exit and Tang Dynasty immigration, we met up with our Tajik guide and drove along bumpy, unpaved mountain roads. The guide was very well-organized and provided support throughout the trip. After visiting the seven lakes of the Seven Lakes, we exchanged money at a Tajik market, had lunch, and returned to the hotel a little after 6:00 PM. I was able to experience the great nature of Tajikistan and enjoy a sense of adventure; it was a fantastic day trip. If you need to exchange money, about $10 should be enough.

I connected without any problems at the Samarkand airport; detailed instructions on how to connect. The internet was excellent in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent; 500 MB per day was enough. Wi-Fi was available at the hotel or cafe. I recommend it.
