I used this for a temporary return to Japan. It's cheaper than Japanese budget SIM cards. Connecting is very easy; you just tap the install button in the app. However, since the connection originates outside of Japan, PayPay may not be available. This is my second purchase. Installation via Ctrip was very quick; even with minor friction, it wouldn't start, but a restart fixed it. Once in Japan, it worked perfectly after disabling airplane mode, no settings required, and I encountered no problems. It mostly uses LTE, but it works smoothly, and the signal doesn't drop on the subway. Overall, a great user experience.★

I've been to Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Hirashima, Tokyo. Arima Onsen had 5G everywhere, and in some places, except for Arima Onsen, there was excellent 4G. Excellent esim.
