This trip abroad was my first time seriously using an eSIM, and it really made me realize, "What was I doing all this trouble before?"
Before, every trip involved searching for a physical SIM card, changing the SIM card ejector tool, worrying about losing my original card, and even experiencing the embarrassing situation of having no internet and no one to pick me up at the airport after landing. This time, using an eSIM made a huge difference.
The most convenient thing is not having to remove the SIM card.
I could set it up at home, and upon arrival, I had internet access immediately. The peace of mind was palpable. Especially now that so many things rely on my phone—navigation, translation, calling a taxi, finding restaurants, contacting friends—I get anxious without internet, but eSIM makes it almost effortless.
Switching is also very convenient.
I can keep my original number and use the travel network simultaneously, so I won't miss important calls or messages. It's incredibly useful for people who need to balance work and travel.
I was initially worried about signal and speed stability, but it was much smoother than I expected. Opening maps, watching videos, and sharing photos were all very smooth. The overall user experience is even more stable than some physical SIM cards I've bought before.
What impressed me most was the time-saving aspect.
No need to go to a store, wait for delivery, or look for SIM card vending machines at the airport; setup can be completed in just a few minutes, which is incredibly convenient for people who value efficiency these days.
If your phone supports eSIM, I would highly recommend trying it at least once.
Once you use it, it's really hard to go back, especially for frequent travelers; the difference in convenience is significant.★
