It was a good experience overall! But some activities felt a bit rushed to be honest.

Reviews: Luang Prabang Pak Ouv Caves + Kuang Si Waterfall 1-day tour [Mekong River cruise to Pak Ouv Caves]

This was a fantastic itinerary, far beyond my expectations! In the morning, we visited a small village, then went to Kuang Si Falls (about two hours of free time). Lunch was a buffet on the Mekong River, which was delicious, with unlimited drinks and barbecue. Outside the restaurant, there were elephants you could feed and interact with for free (which reminded me of the hundreds of yuan I spent on elephant grazing in Xishuangbanna a few days ago โ€“ what a waste!). The baby elephants were adorable, but one even got angry, which scared us humans quite a bit. Then we took a boat trip to Bau Caves, followed by a rather long boat ride from the caves to the city. Along the way, we stopped at a village selling local wines and tried some (a kind of shopping stop). Beer and drinks were provided on the boat. We disembarked in the city, and the tour ended there; tipping was optional. This day trip was incredibly worthwhile and great value. Although it was advertised as an English tour, even those who don't speak English could participate, as most people don't speak much English anyway.

Reviews: Luang Prabang half-day tour: Mekong River sunset cruise [A ONE CRUISE]
Guest User2026-02-11
The trip itself was great, the boat was excellent, and cruising in a deckchair was very pleasant, but be careful as sometimes all the deckchairs are occupied. The sunset views were spectacular. Tickets purchased on-site are only 90 yuan.

Reviews: Vang Vieng 1-day tour [Including zipline + Tham Jang Cave + underwater cave + kayaking + Lagoon 3]

Overall, it was alright. The local travel agency (also run by Chinese people) made reasonable arrangements. Lunch was rather simple: fried rice with egg and a bread roll that foreigners like. The original scenery was nice. The only regret was that I was cheated out of 80 yuan by the price I booked on Ctrip. Booking directly on-site would only cost 180 yuan, but I booked for 260 yuan. I only found out after boarding the bus and talking with other members of the tour group. I thought I was a 20-year loyal customer and wouldn't be ripped off. ๐Ÿ˜‘

Everything was great, but the seating arrangement was disappointing. I'm not sure if it was random assignment, but the seat wasn't good.
