Reviews: [Official Ticket] JR PASS Kansai & Hiroshima Area Railway Pass 5-Day (e-ticket)
Guest User2026-06-04
Honestly it could not have been more simple. Booked and we got the QR codes through, redeemed at the station green machines with no issues at all. We then got stuck with how to use the pass to reserve seats but as far as the trip.com part I can't stress how simple and pain free it was.
Reviews: [Official Ticket] JR PASS Japan Kansai Region 1/2/3/4 Day Rail Pass (Physical Ticket/Electronic Ticket Available) (Includes HARUKA)
Guest User2026-06-03
From Kansai Airport to Kyoto, you can take the Haruka train and use a reserved seat. However, using the Keihan line requires exchanging tickets at the specific station, so I didn't use it and felt it wasn't worth it. I only went to Sanjo. If you want to go to Uji, the route details in the Trips app should be clearer and easier to understand.
Reviews: [Official Ticket] JR PASS Kansai Wide Area Railway Pass 5-Day (E-Redemption Voucher)

Buying through Ctrip was very convenient, and the prices were more affordable than other places during promotions. We exchanged our tickets for reserved seats at the airport and then used our 5-day wide-area pass to visit the Honshu region, which we had never been to before. We also rode the adorable panda-themed train – a fantastic experience!

It's easy to buy and pay, and you can pick up your pass on site. If you plan to travel frequently in your chosen region, purchasing it is highly recommended.
Reviews: [Official Ticket] JR Sanyo & San'in Area Pass 7-Day (e-ticket)
Guest User2026-04-03
The JR Pass Sanyo & Sanin Area Rail Pass (7-day e-ticket) can be redeemed at the Shinkansen office counter. I initially went to the rail pass counter, but the staff told me to go to the Shinkansen counter instead. This pass is very useful. During this 7-day trip, I visited 3 locations: Fukuoka, Kokura, and Hiroshima. I took 4 Shinkansen trains: Hakata <-> Kokura/Hakata <-> Hiroshima, and the Miyajimaguchi ferry (the ferry to Itsukushima costs an extra 100 yen, the return trip is free) and unlimited JR rides in Hiroshima. It was really cost-effective. The only misconception is that the Kagoshima Main Line JR from Kokura to Moji Port is in the Kitakyushu region, and the Sanyo & Sanin Pass does not support this section of the JR. But the fact that the Shinkansen starts in Hakata and ends in Shin-Osaka is amazing.
