The entire trip was very satisfactory except for Xishuangbanna! The accommodations and food in Xishuangbanna were terrible, and the tour guide was absolutely awful! First, the accommodations: the hotel wasn't on the itinerary. On the last day, the hotel suddenly lost power at 6 am, forcing us to carry our luggage down from the sixth floor ourselves. One of the group's Qingdao aunties slipped and fell on the dark stairs and had to be taken to the hospital. As for the food, we all became like monks and nuns in Xishuangbanna; there was very little meat. One dinner was taken by the tour guide to a roadside stall near his home, and none of us were full. Later that night, we went out for a late-night snack and learned about local prices. The group meals the tour guide ordered for us didn't even reach the standard of 10 yuan per person! They were incomparable to the group meals of the following days. Then there was the male tour guide, surnamed Xu. On the first day, he strongly recommended we go to the optional Lancang River bonfire party, 200 yuan per person, including a buffet, saying there would be lots of barbecue. When we got there, the only barbecue was grilled chicken and fish. The fish was both salty and spicy, and the performance was mediocre. 200 yuan was not worth it at all. The next morning, he strongly recommended the optional tour to Jinuo Mountain Villa, priced at 160 yuan per person. Everyone felt yesterday's optional tour was terrible, and half the people didn't participate. From then on, he gave us a cold shoulder and unilaterally changed the itinerary. Originally, the afternoon was supposed to be spent at the Flower Garden first, then at Jinuo Mountain Villa, but he changed it to go to Jinuo Mountain Villa first. We spent nearly four hours at Jinuo Mountain Villa, and those who didn't go were left waiting at the entrance for four hours. We didn't go to the Flower Garden until almost 5 pm, and only spent half an hour there—not even a tenth of the way through! When it came time to evaluate his service, we marked the group meal a C, and he specifically reprimanded us!★
