Reviews: HongDingYan Imperial Banquet Show - Chengdu, Sichuan|Immersive Hot Pot Dining Show Cultural Feast [Optional Makeup & Costume Service + Dining with Colored Glassware + Original Soup Base]
Guest User2026-06-18
Hongdingyan Imperial Banquet was a fantastic experience, especially as a solo traveler. Unlike a typical hot pot restaurant where meals are usually shared family-style, this restaurant offers individual hot pots, allowing me to enjoy the experience comfortably on my own without getting too stuffed. The staff was able to accommodate my “non spicy” request. The food presentation was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Beyond the meal itself, the live performances and entertaining atmosphere made the experience much more than just dinner.

This palatial restaurant is the pinnacle of immersive ancient costume experiences. The overall setting, furnishings, costumes, and props perfectly recreate the ancient palace atmosphere from film and television dramas, creating a truly immersive experience. Before the meal, diners can try on ancient-style makeup and styling, changing into exquisite looks before taking their seats, perfectly blending into the banquet setting. The waiters' manners and etiquette perfectly replicate the style of ancient people, providing elegant and ceremonial service. During the meal, there are multiple captivating ancient-style dance performances, offering a diverse and engaging experience. The dishes are exquisitely presented, perfectly matching the style of a palatial banquet, and taste equally impressive, combining visual appeal with delicious flavor. Reviews: Chengdu [Shu Kingdom] Palace Banquet (North Lake Branch) - Immersive Experience of an Ancient Palace Feast [Gourmet Cuisine + Dance Performance + Shu Kingdom Historical Culture Experience + Optional Costume and Makeup]

We traveled from Korea to Sichuan with my son and spent a joyful and happy time watching the performance. If you visit Chengdu, Sichuan, this is a place you absolutely must see and experience. I would like to write a few words to express my gratitude to all the performers. I am especially thankful to the commentator in the white imperial attire who guided and looked after us from beginning to end. Even after returning to Korea, this experience will leave a lasting impression. From afar, I sincerely wish you good health and continued success.

Reviews: Chengdu: Cooking Class with Fresh Market Experience
Guest User2026-08-17
This was not only a cooking class, but also a deep dive into Chinese, and more so, Sichuan culture, and cuisine. Jerry, our guide, was the most exquisite, professional, funny, and easygoing person, on a professional, and human level. He explained everything in detail, about the culture, cuisine, spices, teas, and more. He wand far and beyond. I cannot recommend this workshop enough. I’m a cook, and I mostly cook Asian cuisine, and this class gave me even more insights into the culture, and various preparations. Thank you Jerry for answering my (many) questions, and for making this day memorable. The highlight of my trip!

Reviews: [Chengdu Shu Kingdom Palace Banquet] Enjoy performances and cuisine, watch Sichuan opera face-changing, and explore an ancient market
Guest User2026-09-18
Before the meal began, there was an hour of interactive games, including mahjong, rock-paper-scissors, word guessing, historical quizzes, and a poetry recitation game—all very fun. After the meal started, each dish was accompanied by a performance; the food was exquisite and delicious, and the performances were of a very high standard. Sitting in the front row was definitely worth it; my friend was extremely satisfied with the arrangements.

Reviews: Chengdu imperial banquet - the imperial court dinner show & a royal banquet of ancient Chinese liyue ritual music
Guest User2026-06-12
The venue perfectly recreates the ancient Shu landscape, with meticulously arranged pavilions, towers, and antique lanterns. Visitors can dress up in Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) and take photos, ensuring every snapshot is a masterpiece of ancient style. Each Sichuan-style banquet dish is exquisitely prepared and authentically flavored, accompanied by a seamless and immersive live performance that vividly portrays the ancient Shu story. The dining experience also includes fun interactive elements, making it a fulfilling experience even when you're just leisurely watching the performance. Combining delicious food, entertainment, and fun in one place, it's perfect for families and friends.
