The hotel was great for traveling with kids, though a bit out of the way. However, it was very convenient for families with children, as the hotel itself offered many tour options at reasonable prices. The proboscis monkey and firefly tour was just okay. The tourist area itself was nice, giving a feeling of traversing a tropical rainforest, but it was too far away. We stayed at the Resa Lira Shangri-La Hotel, and it took us three hours by car to get to the tourist spot, leaving only a little over an hour for actual sightseeing. The round trip took almost six hours. Note that the local tours sold on Ctrip are actually group tours booked locally. We shared a whole busload of people with the tours.
