Reviews: Full-Day Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with 5 Hours at the Site (ENG/ESP/RUS Guided Bus)
Guest User2026-06-30
The impressions were excellent, the views were superb! A must-see. My recommendation would probably be to choose one route, either the western or eastern. If you're not fit, you'll lack the energy and likely won't have time for the other route after the western route. Another unpleasant surprise is the 140 yuan cable car ticket; walking to the wall will be difficult. The lunch buffet left me with mixed feelings, as only tea is free; everything else costs extra. You can also grab a bite at cafes and restaurants, and there's also a Burger King.
Reviews: Mutianyu Great Wall Day Trip [ZANBUS - Daily departures at 8/9/10 AM]

We booked tickets for this tour on Trip.com. We chose the Mutianyu section, as it's less crowded. We arrived at the meeting point, which we found right at the metro exit. We boarded the bus. There were two guides: a woman who spoke Russian and English, and a man who spoke English. They were very good guides; we had a comfortable ride to the start of the tour. The guides explained and showed us where to go. My son and I chose the western route. We took the funicular up to the 14th tower in Tula. It costs 100 yuan for one person, 200 yuan for two. Then we walked to the 20th tower. My son continued up to the 23rd tower, all the way to the top. Then we returned back to the 10th tower and walked back down. Everything was amazing!!! I recommend it to everyone! It was simply a grand experience, the scale and grandeur were so impressive. It was beautiful. Moreover, after the 14th tower, there were much fewer people heading towards the 10th and 6th towers. Thanks to the company, the guides were very good, the transfer was excellent, and the driver was professional. We were also taken back to the Beijing subway station. We were thrilled!

We bought tickets for a group tour, but it turned out we were alone. The guide was a very friendly young man who took us on a tour of the hutongs, explaining in detail Chinese traditions and cuisine, taking us into hidden alleys and showing us the most hidden spots. The entire tour, including dinner, lasted 3.5 hours. We didn't regret a minute of it! His English was good, and everything was crystal clear! Dinner was also filling; my daughter has a gluten allergy, so he quickly changed the dishes. The tour ended at the lake, where the guide explained in detail how to spend our time there and get back to our hotel.
Reviews: Mutianyu Great Wall + Summer Palace One-Day Tour [BUSDA Sightseeing Bus | In-depth Guided Tour]
Guest User2026-07-19
This tour was amazing, I felt like we were given enough free time at each location. There are some extra charges once you get to the Great Wall and summer palace for the cable car, boat ride and optional buffet. Overall our tour guide, Yoyo, did an amazing job keeping the group together and on schedule in peak travel season in China. I had no doubts that we would get where we needed to be on time.

We did not expect summer to be so busy bc kids are on their holidays and every attraction sites are packed with crowds. Our guide Mary was excellent at directing us, she is very knowledgeable about histories and events and shared valuable insights. Because of logistics and the number of tourists in the city, we ended up taking public transport (subway and buses) to bypass traffic which save us alot of walking. However, the wait times for ticketing still consumed 2 hours of our time due to heavy crowd. Our tour was supposed to end at 2pm but Mary stayed with us and completed our tour until 4:30pm so we dont feel cheated. Thank you Mary for being so patient with us. I think everyone in our group had a great time although the day felt very long mainly due to long wait at security and ticketing.
