Attraction details:
Lanzhou Danxia Geological Park
Lanzhou Danxia Geological Park is located by the Yellow River, only about 13 kilometers from downtown Lanzhou, making it one of the closest Danxia landform clusters to a major urban area in China. The landscape is dominated by the colorful hills of Hongshan Bay, with vibrant hues being its most striking feature. Over hundreds of millions of years of geological activity, the mountains have developed a spectrum of colors including red, yellow, orange, white, and bluish-gray, resembling a massive ink-wash painting by a master artist. The park features multiple observation decks, with "Dan Summit Panorama" being the highest point offering breathtaking views of the vast colorful hills. Beyond sightseeing, visitors can enjoy diverse experiences here. A 2,500-meter-long boardwalk allows in-depth exploration, while modern attractions like hot air balloons, off-road vehicles, and capsule hotels blend contemporary thrills with the ancient Danxia landscape.
Yellow River Stone Forest
The Yellow River Stone Forest National Geopark is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, adjacent to the surging Yellow River. Its core features are gravel stone forest formations dating back approximately 4 to 2.1 million years. These stone forests were shaped by crustal movements, weathering, and erosion, with stone pillars and peak clusters reaching up to 200 meters in height, displaying bizarre and diverse formations. Along the 9-kilometer-long Yinma Valley Grand Canyon, vivid pictographic rock formations such as "Elephant Drinking Water" and "Qu Yuan Questioning Heaven" are scattered. The experience here is distinctly characteristic of Northwest China. Visitors can ride donkey carts operated by local farmers through the canyon while listening to the drivers' commentary in local dialect. After exiting the canyon, one can experience the ancient tradition of sheepskin raft drifting on the Yellow River, combining movement and stillness to appreciate the unique charm of the Loess Plateau. This location has also served as a filming site for movies and TV series such as "The Myth" and "The Great Dunhuang."
Tour concludes between 19:00-20:30, subject to change based on actual circumstances of the day.
Drop-off service coverage: Complimentary door-to-door drop-off is available within Lanzhou's urban areas.
