We had a truly wonderful tour with Mahinda. The tuk-tuk ride up into the forest was very exciting, and along the way, we learned a lot about the surrounding area. At the top, we were given leech socks, which are definitely needed. Mahinda pointed out various fascinating plants and animals whenever we could find them. After a break with lunch cooked by the family, we got caught in an extra-heavy downpour (a rain jacket and change of clothes are absolutely essential). After a final delicious tea with the guide and the tuk-tuk driver, we headed back. Highly recommended! Mahinda is a fantastic guide—extremely kind and experienced.
