Reviews: Marino Ballena National Park: Watching Whales and Dolphins
Guest User2026-03-03
It's February 24th, 3 adults, 3 children aged 6, 4, and 1, and it's not the best time to go whale watching, but I'm taking my chances. Honestly, it was a fantastic time. The staff is amazing, attentive to all requests (and with 3 little ones, there were quite a few), very welcoming, and they anticipate what shyness can sometimes delay a request. They are there out of passion, and if they can do something, they do it. We were able to do all the activities: whale watching, dolphin watching, the secret beach, caves, snorkeling, and in the end, a 4-hour trip instead of the planned 3 hours. It's worth noting, and this is important, that the social distancing guidelines for whale watching are respected, which isn't the case elsewhere. Some companies we saw, well yes, they make for better photos, but those jerks almost hit the whale and its mother, so choose this respectful company over others. My children thank you, it was truly incredible.

Good tour, nice boat trip to Corcovado. The guide rushed a little bit through the parc, sometimes leaving people behind. Lunch was good

What a fantastic day! The evening before, we received a WhatsApp message explaining everything in detail. Boarding the boat takes place in Ballena Marine National Park. Since it's located on the Pacific coast, the waves are quite high, and you should expect to be waist-deep in water to get on board. The guides are very helpful and accommodating, but everyone should be aware of this. You're not allowed to bring your own food or disposable water bottles. To enter the national park, everyone is checked (backpacks must be emptied), and anything with belongings is confiscated. This is also explained several times beforehand. The guides are very enthusiastic, and it was a great hike. The meal afterward is really good, with hot and cold dishes as well as fruit (including vegetarian options). Photos from the guide are sent to you afterward via WhatsApp. We had a wonderful day.
