Itinerary
The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (National Fine Arts Museum) is located in the Plains of Abraham in Quebec's Battlefield's Park. It is the only museum entirely dedicated to Quebec art including an exclusive exhibition on Inuit art.

The urban park in which the museum if located is one of the most marvelous in the world. With 108 hectares of plains, wooded areas and gardens it is a green oasis in the heart of the city. Visited each year by thousands of residents and visitors., the back of the Musem provides a magnificent view of the park and the St. Lawrence River. The museum complex made up of four buildings, the Gérard-Morisset Pavilion, the Charles Baillairgé Pavilion, the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion, and the new Espace Riopelle (coming Fall 2026). A tunnel network connects the pavilions.

The Pierre Lassonde pavilion, located on the marvellous Grande Allée, is the gateway to the Museum. It includes the ticket counter, cloakroom, boutique and café. The building's architecture is harmoniously tiered with generous exhibition spaces: six exhibition galleries for the display of post-1960 collections, two temporary exhibition galleries and four permanent exhibition galleries (Contemporary art, Us, Inuit art and Decorative arts and design) and Jean Paul Riopelle's monumental fresco "Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg". The building is a powerful architectural statement covered entirely in glass.

Blockbuster exhibitions :

October 17, 2024 - April 21, 2025 : Early Days
Early Days is the first exhibition of Canadian Indigenous art to circulate on the international scene. The MNBAQ will host its exclusive Québec engagement in the fall of 2024. Early Days will showcase the diversity and vitality of Indigenous art in Canada.

June 12, 2025 - January 4, 2026 : NIKI DE SAINT PHALLE
The exhibition will be devoted to the work of Niki de Saint Phalle in the last two decades of her life, starting in 1978 the French-American artist launched the monumental Tarot Garden in Italy.

February 26, 2026 - October 12, 2026 : HYPERREALISTIC SCULPTURE
Bringing together over 30 sculptures by 25 international artists, Hyperrealistic Sculpture shows the evolution of the human figure in sculpture since the 1970s.

Tribute to Rosa Luxemburg, Jean Paul Riopelle
In the main glass lobby of the Pierre Lassonde Pavilion, the restaurant offers the finest urban environment in Québec City. Visitors will have the impression of being outside while inside, of being in the heart of the Plains of Abraham and on the Grande Allée. This urban café is a warm and friendly gathering spot with a multitude of main courses to discover and dishes to share on site. The Café is open to visitors to the Museum and the general public.
The Café Québecor proposes a menu that changes according to the seasons and new arrivals and also adapts to the themes of the MNBAQ's programming to bring the exhibition to your table.
The MNBAQ's restaurant : Café Québecor and take-out counter in the Pierre Lassonde pavillion, as well as a catering service for all those planning events at the Musée.
